Æloha Surfers

We hope you’re all ready for the official season start. We sure are! And thanks to a lot of help, we’ve been spending the past couple of months getting ready, reorganizing the containers, prepping the gear, and making sure the clubhouse is ready for the season kick-off.

1. Check your card before May 1st

The payment for your annual fee is up this Sunday, May 1st. Please make sure to check that your payment card is up to date under your account in Klubmodul. For those of you with kids that are members, make sure to check that their profile is complete - and remember that the annual fees have changed and are now 1.200 DKK for members over the age of 24 and 600 DKK for members aged 18-24

2. 2022 Season Kick-Off

On Saturday, May 7th at 14 o’clock we are having a 2022 Kick-Off event to mark the start of the season. We hope you’ll join and come and say hi to old members, and new members, check out the gear and see our newly decorated sail container. The water in Amager Strand is already hitting 8 degrees and if there’s wind this day might even be your first day on the water.

3. Club trip #1 to Nakskov

Registration for the first club trip taking place from May 12-15 is open in Klubmodul. So, come explore the Nakskov waters with us for the first time in Helgoland history! Nakskov Fjord is an excellent surf spot in our prevailing west winds, with the perfect depth for both windsurfers and kite surfers of all levels. Nearby alternative spots in other wind directions are within driving distance, including Albuen or Easterly wind direction spots. Not bad at all, we think!

We will stay in 9 small huts at Nakskov Fjord Camping, right at the fjord beach. Huts will host ca. 3 people with sleeping accommodation on a mezzanine, a double room, and a sofa bed in the small common area.
After a good day of surfing (those rusty winter bodies!), we will treat ourselves to pizza one night and have dinner at restaurant Fjorden the other night. Want to join? Sign up for the club trip on Klubmodul.

4. New Kite Gear

For kitesurfers, we have some news and updates to gear, and this year it’s all about sizes. We thought it would be nice for our light riders to have kites in smaller increments (from the standard 12, 9, and 7 m2). So, we’ve changed the Cabrinha Switchblade lineup to 12, 10, and 8 m2 plus a single FX kite in 11 m2 (hybrid freeride/freestyle). And of course, we still have plenty of kites in the 12, 9, and 7 m2 lineups. We’ve also got a new set of Crave kites in sizes 12 and 9 m2 from our sponsor Ocean Rodeo. And finally, we have a brand-new Cabrinha Spectrum 136cm board but are still waiting for the bindings to arrive.
