Here we go with the highlight of the year, the Helgoland Surfers West Coast Trip!

The important stuff:
- We need to adhere to principles to prevent the spread of COVID-19
- We need to know how many couples plan to come - tell us when you sign up
- We need drivers and co-drivers for the windsurf van and the kitesurfing van/minibus – tell us when you sign up
- We need your car seats to drive everyone up there - tell us when you sign up
- Signing up is after a first come, first served principle, so be quick!
- Should the event be sold out, then you can sign up for the waiting list. As soon as a spot frees up, you will have 8 hours to confirm your attendance, before the next person in line will be offered the spot. 

General
We are organising this trip during the global coronavirus pandemic. This means we will all need to take extra care and adhere to principles designed to minimise the spread of COVID-19. It also means the trip is organised in a slightly different way than earlier years. We are still a large number of participants on this trip, so please show flexibility and help make everything work.

Special Guidelines Regarding COVID-19
Accommodation has been booked according to the following guidelines set down by us. The guidelines are subject to change as the pandemic develops.
1. Double beds are only for couples
2. Minimum 5 m2 per person in huts
3. No more than 5 persons or 4 persons and 1 couple in each hut
4. No party huts this year - do not visit the other huts for partying
5. Hand sanitiser will be provided and should be used
6. Any person feeling sick must leave the club trip immediately.
Using these guidelines, a we have reserved 39 beds. Some beds are double beds. For this reason we can accommodate up to 9 additional surfers, provided they are sharing the double bed with their partner. For this reason we need to know, which couples plan to come. Tell us in the comments, partners may bypass sign-up procedure above. We expect in the order of 3 couples, yielding a total of 42 participants.

Transportation
We meet at the club Thursday 2020-10-01 at 15:00h sharp. We will rent a windsurf gear van, and also a kitesurf minivan or minibus. We need drivers and co-drivers, please sign up in comments below, drivers bypass the sign-up procedure above and are secured participation. Departure in private cars as soon as everything is packed. Organise your transportation in the transportation plan (link will be provided later). Choose car according to those you want to surf with. Please organise yourselves if you cannot depart with the main party. Club pays petrol and bridge for private cars filled with members and gear. Fuel your car before departure. We plan to return to the club in the early evening of Sunday 2020-10-04. Transportation plan: (link will be provided later)

Accommodation
Huts at Hvide Sande Camping, Karen Brands Vej 70, Aargab, 6960 Hvide Sande. Bring towels, sleeping bag or linen. Use link (provided later) to choose which hut you want to stay in. Feel free to agree with other person to swap places. Upon arrival, keys are in the huts. Designated key keepers are responsible for keeping keys during our stay and returning the keys to the reception upon departure. Key keepers are also responsible for registering each hut at the reception (open 08-11h, 16-18h) at the earliest possible time. Upon registering, dishtowels and cleaning utensils will be handed over. If you want to swap places as key keeper, please notify Per. Huts should be left in clean condition at 11:00h on Sunday. Hut choice link: (link will be provided later). We are in 3 different types of huts this year (numbers 7, 8, 41, 51, 53, 55, 56, 57, 58). Surf Spots
Just next door is Westwind Syd, a great spot. There is a sauna and showers. On the other side of Hvide Sande is Westwind Nord, also with sauna and more abundant, shallow water. For more advanced surfers and kiters, there are several other good wave and flat-water spots nearby.

Food and Drinks
Each individual hut is responsible for food and drinks by itself. This applies to all meals also during the day. Feel free to organise restaurant visits with other participants.

Decisions
Two appointed persons (NN for windsurf, Per for kite) will be responsible for taking common decisions on when to go where etc. Decisions will be posted on the Facebook event. We will try to surf together, but prevailing conditions may result in parties going to separate spots.

Entertainment and Socialising

Free entrance to Hvide Sande Swimming Pool is included: Bring a swimsuit. After dinner each evening, we can meet at Cafe Marina, Toldbodgade 20, 6960 Hvide Sande for drinks and socialising. Other bars are available. Our trip does not coincide with the Bork Blow-out sale this year. Due to the corona outbreak and the large number of participants, no other common entertainment has been planned, but surfers should feel free to organise outdoor events during the trip, if you wish to do so, please notify us.

Gear

Members can borrow club gear but have the responsibility to rig it and check the state of the gear prior to departure, to pack it and finally to put it back in its place in the containers upon returning.
